Appeal Hearing for 75 Houses on ANCHOR RD/BREWERY LANE
Are you concerned about the impact that 75 houses on Anchor Rd / Brewery Lane will have on our villages?
·
Highway Safety, on Charmborough Lane especially
but throughout the village and compounded by the approval of 63 houses
opposite, the Gladman site.
·
Visual Impact, an incongruous and highly visible
bolt-on to the village. Loss of over 100m of hedgerow.
·
Sewerage - 98 recorded spillages last year at
the Coleford sewage works totalling 1441.5 hours. How will it cope?
·
Sustainability - limited village services with
difficult access. No bus to Frome until 9.43
· Widlife impact - up to 6 deer regularly seen, along with buzzards, red kites and more.
The developer has appealed against the refusal by Somerset Council. There will be a public hearing by the government’s Inspector at the old Mendip Offices at 10-00 on Tuesday 10th June. Somerset have chosen not to defend the appeal. The Coleford Parish Council maintains its objection on behalf of the village.
Do come and support us and show to the
Inspector that the village cares - Weight of numbers is important.
